Several of our athletes reflect on returning to the court since graduating!
As their season in England comes to an end, our student-athletes have had time to reflect on their experiences so far and recently told us how it feels to return to the court to play another season of basketball.
“Until this year, it has been almost 3 years since I’ve been on the court with any real purpose. Long story short, my senior year of college I found out I may not be able to play basketball anymore, but instead of giving up I worked extremely hard to get back to what I love to do.
I scored 33 points (4 threes) in my first game here in the U.K. and picked up the win. This was an emotional game for me. It’s just surreal that I’m actually back out here. I finally see the hard work paying off. I have had an amazing opportunity and have cherished every moment of it.” Admassu Williams |
“When my basketball season ended last year, I was not ready to give up the game. However, I knew wanted to move forward with my education and my career. When the opportunity came to be able to both play another year of basketball and get my masters in a different country, I knew I had to take it!
Playing another year of college basketball was so great. We had a lot of fun and it reminded me of how much I love basketball and how it’ll always be with me.” Alexis Bush |
“It’s funny how your life can change in 1 year. I thought I was done with school but just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to strengthen my mind and keep playing the sport I love!”
