Studying at Swansea University
An Introduction to Swansea University
Swansea University thrives on exploration and discovery and offers the right balance of excellent teaching and research matched by an enviable quality of life. We have two stunning campuses at each end of Swansea’s waterfront. Singleton Park Campus is set in parkland and botanical gardens overlooking the beach on Swansea Bay, and our new state-of-the-art Bay Campus is located on its own beach on the eastern approach into Swansea. Our multicultural dual-campus provides a wide range of opportunities for students, staff and the community with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Town, beach and campuses are well connected so it’s easy to get where you need to be; walking, cycling or on the Unibus.
Where is Swansea?
Swansea is located on the edge of the Gower Peninsula in Wales. The UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers coastal walks and 5 award winning Blue Flag beaches. Wales has an abundance of castles to explore, mountains to climb and delicious local dishes to try – the perfect antidote to a long week of studying.
The city of Swansea is medium sized by UK standards (pop. 250,000) and culturally diverse. It ranks 3rd in the Most Affordable U.K. University Town (Totallymoney.com 2019) and will be attracting a significant amount of investment in the coming years with plans in place for a new Conference and Exhibition Centre, HydroHub and Digital District – making it a very exciting place to be! Swansea also benefits from excellent transport links with Cardiff International Airport an hour away, and London just three hours by train.
