Play Overseas Athletes Become U.K. University Champions!
It has been another fantastic week for our student-athletes with teams across four different sports being crowned champions. We take a look at the Play Overseas athletes who have featured in four winning sides over the last week as they topped the BUCS Leagues to become U.K. University Champions.
Men’s LacrosseBUCS Premier North ChampionsLacrosse players Jack Granahan and Conor Morrison helped their team become Premier North Champions on Friday as they defeated second place to secure the title. Alongside Fall 2021 arrivals Jack and Conor, former Play Overseas athlete Sean Edwards who is currently pursuing a second master’s degree also featured in his second year overseas. |

Women’s VolleyballBUCS Premier South ChampionsUndefeated! A convincing win on Tuesday night saw women’s volleyball players Ashlyn Gergins, Gionni Brown, Gabrielle Roberts and Franceska Gustave crowned BUCS Premier South Champions. The girls have enjoyed a dominant season, finishing with a 10-0 record and only dropping two sets along the way. |

Men’s BasketballBUCS Premier South ChampionsBasketball player Earl Thompson Jr helped his side become BUCS Premier South Champions with an 81-70 victory last Wednesday. Earl’s team are currently 7-2 going into the final game of the season and have recorded some huge victories (92-56, 110-61) along the way. |

Women’s SoccerBUCS Premier South ChampionsWomen’s soccer player Antonia Williams helped her team to be crowned BUCS Premier South Champions. Her side finished the season 9-1 after winning their first 9 games to secure the league title before even playing their final match. |
